West Buda Is Getting a New Neighborhood Hub—And It’s Nothing Like the Strip Mall Down the Road
For years, West Buda residents have faced the same choice: drive into Austin or Kyle for dinner, errands, and weekend plans, or make do with what’s nearby. That’s about to change.
Construction is just starting to kickoff at The Roundabout in Buda, a $27 million development designed around a simple idea: give families a reason to stay local. We’re talking local restaurants with real patios. Shops owned by Texans. Over a mile of connected trails linking neighborhoods to playgrounds, green space, and places worth walking to.
This isn’t another cookie-cutter retail center. The Roundabout is a public-private partnership with the City of Buda and the Buda Economic Development Corporation—built intentionally to create a neighborhood gathering place, not just a parking lot with storefronts.
The project is already 50% leased, with a tenant mix focused on restaurants, entertainment, health and wellness, and professional services that complement each other rather than compete. Phase 1 is on track for late 2026, with full completion by the end of 2027.
West Buda is growing fast. The Roundabout is being built to grow with it.
